A surprise gift made Sen. Dean Heller's office look like a beach party.
Activists delivered 126 beach balls with petition signatures demanding action on Merrick Garland's Supreme Court nomination.
They say they wanted to remind Heller that summer vacation is over and that it's time the country has a fully-staffed Supreme Court.
President Obama nominated Garland in March, but senators want to wait until after the election to hold confirmation hearings.
Heller's office released the following statement:
“The Senator welcomes the viewpoints of all constituents and keeps them in mind as he performs his duties as an elected official,” said Neal Patel, spokesman for US Senator Dean Heller.
