A valley mom is feuding with a preschool after they left her 4-year-old daughter behind on the school's playground.

According to Shannon Morrison, her daughter Avery was attending her first day at Creative Kids Leaning Center in Centennial Hills when the incident happened on Jan. 20.

"I was furious, devastated. I didn't really know what to feel," said mother Shannon Morrison.

According to the preschool, the toddler was separated from her classroom for only a few minutes. They say another class was playing on a separate playground nearby.

But the whole incident has terrified the toddler from going back to school.

"I was tired and I was scared," Avery said.

School officials ended up firing the teacher.

The mother said the school did address the issue, but refuses to refund her for the registration fee she paid.

"I just want what I feel I deserve. I mean if she went six months or something that's totally understandable, but she was there for six hours and they didn't even watch her. They were negligent with her," Morrison said.

13 Action News looked into the history of the preschool, but according to the State Child Care Licensing Board the school has no history of complaints.

The school said they will not refund the money to the money, because it is against their policy.
