A tarantula caused a flight delay for Delta passengers headed from Baltimore to Atlanta earlier this week.
A Delta Airlines representative said the Wednesday evening flight was delayed after an employee saw a tarantula in the cargo hold just before take off.
The spokesman told the Baltimore Sun that the spider was confined to the cargo hold and never made it into the the cabin. The handler verified it was the only spider in the cage.
Passengers were put on another plane, which departed three hours later.
