LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — More than one year after the 1 October shooting, President Trump is ready to make a major change in gun control. According to sources with CNN, he's expected to announce his plan to make bump stocks illegal. It's a move that many of those who survived the 1 October shooting have been pushing for since after the attack.

The plan would mean anybody who own the device will have to either destroy it, or give it up to authorities. They have 90 days to do this.

The Trump administration has said the device falls under the category of machine guns, so it should be illegal.

Bump stocks gained national attention lastr year, after the 1 October shooter used the device on his weapons.

Some people support the ban, saying it will save lives.

"If this saves even one life, then we're honoring the 58," says 1 October survivor Heather Gooze.

Others argue that responsible gun owners should be able to own whatever they want.

"If you're a law-abiding citizen, you should own anything you want," says Mel “Dragonman” Bernstein, owner of DragonMan’s Gun Range and Shop.
