People in the solar industry were speaking up at the Public Utilities Commission of Nevada agenda meeting. Commissioners did not address the topic, but dozens of people showed up for the public comment period. They brought 31,650 signed cards, all urging commissioners to keep the current net metering rates.

Net metering allows people who generate solar energy to be reimbursed by NV Energy for what they don't use.
Now, that rate could change. Those in solar say that could be detrimental to the industry, which would in turn impact thousands of jobs.
Commissioners are expected to make a final decision by the end of the year.
