Resident shoots suspected home intruder

Henderson police are investigating an early morning shooting at the Villas at Green Valley Apartment Complex.
 
Henderson police officers responded to the Villas at Green Valley at the 2300 block of North Green Valley Parkway, near North Green Valley Parkway and West Warm Springs Road, about 2:15 a.m. this morning.

Police officers were called to two separate apartments in the complex. A resident called 911 dispatchers stating her brother had been shot in the arm. Minutes later, a resident called 911 stating he had shot an intruder breaking into his apartment. 
 
The suspect was transported with non-life threatening injuries to Sunrise Trauma Center. He had been shot in his bicep.
 
Detectives believe the shooting appears to be the result of an attempted burglary. Detectives continue their investigation into the shooting and are following leads.
