A new technology was developed that can help casinos determine whether a player should earn a comped drink while playing on slot machines.

Ardent Progressive Systems & Games just finished the prototype for the LED technology that would be attached to the slot machines.

The company already has a comped drink monitoring system technology on bar top machines in 19 casinos in Las Vegas.

This new technology is more advanced and lets the player know when they are getting close to earning a drink or when they are moving further away from that drink, instead of just a simple red light green light system.

"Now they can kinda see where they are at and if they need to start playing more to stay qualified for the drink," said Albert Tabola with Ardent Progressive Systems & Games.

If you are a consistent gambler, the technology won't impact your comped drink flow. The system is only going to affect the people who essentially want something for close to nothing.

"As long as you're playing, they're still taking care of you," said Tabola.

The technology does not exist on any slot machines just yet but the company will be installing the system in a downtown casino within a couple months for a trial run. After that, they expect their technology will enter in a lot of casinos city-wide and even nation-wide.
