Several media outlets are reporting that former NBA basketball star Lamar Odom has opened his eyes, is making movements, and has event spoken.
Friends and family have been in and out of the hospital, showing their support for Lamar Odom.
One of those friends was Daniel Artest, the brother of Metta World Peace and lifelong friend of Odom.
He told Action News that Odom is being weaned off breathing tubes, and has spent some time Friday breathing on his own.
Artest also says Odom has opened his eyes, communicated briefly with family and squeezed Khloe Kardashian's hand.
He also said that Odom is sedated heavily and doctors are adjusting his medication in order to monitor brain activity.
Artest has not been inside the hospital room with Odom, since it is reserved for family, and is hearing the information secondhand.
Metta World Peace and Lamar Odom are former teammates and good friends.

Odom was found unconscious in a Nevada brothel on Tuesday. He had been at the brothel since Saturday.
TMZ reported early Friday morning that Odom's heart was functioning "much better" and that his doctors said it is sign of improvement.
A source told USA Today Sports that Odom's eyes are appearing to move in reaction to voices and other noise and E! Online says that Odom opened his eyes and said "Hey, baby" to Khloe Kardashian and gave her a thumbs up.
Entertainment Tonight reported earlier in the day that Odom was able to communicate "Yes" when he was asked if he wanted to see his children. However, it is not known if he communicated verbally or in a different way.
Lamar has two children -- 17-year-old Destiny and 13-year-old Lamar Odom Jr.
Khloe and her sisters, mother and other family members flew into Las Vegas as soon as they were notified about the incident.
Odom's family is also in Las Vegas.
Most of the Kardashian clan left on Thursday. However, Khloe is still believed to be at Lamar's bedside even though the couple filed for divorce quite some time ago although the divorce itself is still pending.
