People on the eastside are fed up. For months, they have been dealing with an ugly mess that is now attracting homeless people.
A couch, TV and mattress were all sitting behind a now closed Fresh & Easy near Charleston Boulevard and Sloan Lane.
"There's no attention to it. Nobody's there because there's no activity going on there," said Danna Alvarez.
People who live in the area posted on Facebook when it started in September with graffiti and some small items.
They had a clean-up in October. In November, a ton of stuff showed up -- much of which is still there today.
"It's crazy," said Denisha Anderson, who was shopping in the area with her family. "It looks disgusting. I'm pretty sure there's a ton of bugs. I wouldn't want to be anywhere near that area."
Per state law, the punishment for illegal dumping is up to a $1,000 fine and six months in jail.
Some people want it cleaned up but still feel for the homeless in the area.
"It's so cold; I feel so bad for them," said Wendy Gonzalez. "I wish they would go to a shelter or something, but some would rather be on the street so they can drink and whatnot."
Clark County says in cases like these, they try to work with the property owner to get things cleaned up, but they could not talk to us about this situation because they have an open case.
