Clark County says that it has been approved to buy the property where the former Moulin Rouge casino and hotel sat near Downtown Las Vegas.

They plan to demolish what buildings are left on the site and replace them with a family service department.

The property has been plagued by fires in recent years.

The county says that it will be sensitive to the cultural history of the site though as they move forward.
