A woman is dead and a man is recovering following a shooting early Sunday morning.
The shooting occurred near Decatur Boulevard and Hayes Place, south of Alta Drive, around 2 a.m. Homicide detectives determined the victims were driving in their vehicle when they were confronted by a second vehicle. The suspect shot multiple rounds from the vehicle into the victims' vehicle and then fled the scene.
The victim vehicle then came to rest a short distance away at Decatur Boulevard and Evergreen Avenue.
When police arrived, they found the car had crashed and a woman dead inside the vehicle. The woman was identified as 25-year-old Tiyona M. McCladdie of Las Vegas.
Police said the victims may have known who fired the shots. No suspects have been arrested in the case.
Portions of Decatur Boulevard were shut down early Sunday as police investigated.
This is the 28th homicide investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2016.
