Many of us are signing up for insurance now, but are we getting the best healthcare possible?

Scrolling down the list, you see a lot of C's even a few D's. There are the big hospitals in Nevada with barely passing grades.

The national nonprofit, The Leapfrog Group, came up with these grades. The group was started by healthcare experts, unions, and employers. They looked at things like the spread of infection, problems with surgery, and staffing.

Overall, Nevada hospitals rank 46th when compared to the rest of the country.

Maybe one of the biggest surprises is University Medical Center of Southern Nevada's D grade. On the other end, the only A grade went to a hospital in Reno.

In the Las Vegas valley, the highest grades went to Mountainview Hospital and Saint Rose Dominican in Henderson, both with B grades.
