Arrest report released in homicide near NAFB

NEW:  In an arrest report obtained by 13 Action News, police say Colton Brantano shot and killed a friend of his named Tyler White.

According to the report, Brantano was buying pills from White and White ripped him off, stealing money. Brantano went after his friend, bashing in White's taillights with a bat until White came out.
 
The report says Brantano pulled a gun and shot White, who died at UMC. Police arrested Brantano when he turned himself in three days later.
 
UPDATE: Police are still seeking the vehicle associated with last week's homicide.

It was a black 1990s model Volkswagen Jetta with gold rims and dark tinted windows bearing Arizona license plate BME4708.

UPDATE: On February 26, Colton Brantano and Sherri Esquibel turned themselves in at a local attorney's office. They were taken into custody by LVMPD homicide detectives without incident and booked into the Clark County Detention Center.

Colton Brantano faces the following charges:
 
-Murder with a Deadly Weapon
 
-Kidnapping-1st Degree
 
-Assault with a Deadly Weapon
 
Sherri Esquibel faces the following charge:
 
-Harbor/Conceal/Aid a Felony Offender
 

UPDATE: Police have located Jared Busch, a person of interest in the early Tuesday morning shooting. Police are still seeking Sherri Esquibel and Colton Brantano. 

ORIGINAL STORY

Police are investigating an early morning homicide near Las Vegas Boulevard and Craig Road, across from Nellis Air Force Base.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. in the 4500 block of North Las Vegas Boulevard. A man in his 20s was taken to UMC Trauma where he later died. His identity will be released by the Clark County coroner.

Lt. Dan McGrath said it started with a fight between several people the victim knew. Several shots were fired but only the victim was hit. Police said the incident may be narcotics related.

Police said the person of interest, identified as 21-year-old Colton Brantano, took off in a black 1990s model Volkswagen Jetta with gold rims and dark tinted windows bearing Arizona license plate BME4708.

Additionally, detectives seek to locate two persons of interest: 21-year-old Jared Busch and 21-year-old Sherri Esquibel. 

This is the 24th homicide investigated by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 2016.
