A game of 'Ding Dong Ditch' got a little dangerous when the person playing the prank lit a firework and threw it on a random person's porch.

This happened near Buffalo and Elkhorn Saturday night.

The Murphy family was getting ready to watch the Mayweather/McGregor fight when the doorbell rang.

"My daughter answered the door and came back in and said mom, someone left a firework on our door," said Christina Murphy.

The firework says "Caution: Firework spins, emits flames and sparks".

Murphy immediately thought to check the video recorded on her Ring doorbell.

"Best $200 investment we've made."

In the video you see a guy who appears to be around 18 light a firework before throwing it on the porch, ringing the doorbell, and running off.

Luckily, when Murphy's daughter answered the door, there was no fire. It appears the firework didn't go all the way off. But it did leave burn marks on the ground.

"I don't think he even knows why he did this," said Murphy. "Maybe it was a dare. Maybe he just thought it was funny, a little bored that night. But I would hope that his parents would sit him down and talk to him and explain the dangers of what he did and the full ramifications of what could have happened. It could have turned out so much more differently."

Murphy is hoping someone can identify the person in the video so he can be told to stop pulling pranks like this.

"We just want him to know and his parents to know that what he's doing is extremely dangerous."
