ORIGINAL STORY

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) -- No injuries were reported after a Las Vegas police officer shot at a marijuana dispensary burglary suspect Saturday morning.

Around 4 a.m., police were dispatched to a business located in the 1800 block of Western Avenue to investigate a report of a burglary in progress. Initial reports indicated a private security company was monitoring video from inside of the business and reported multiple suspects were inside breaking through walls with crowbars and taking items to a car waiting in the parking lot.

Arriving officers encountered three suspects running from the business. At least two of the suspects were carrying large crowbars. Officers gave commands to the suspects to stop, but they did not.

Around 4:20 a.m., one of the officers who was armed with a shotgun, fired one round toward one of the suspects who was armed with a 3 1/2-foot-long crowbar.

The suspect was not hit, and all three suspects ran. One suspect was taken into custody a short time later, and two others were captured near the Interstate 15 and Sahara Avenue. The fourth suspect fled the scene in a vehicle which was later stopped.

At least two crowbars have been recovered by police as well as items from the marijuana dispensary.

This was the 14th officer-involved shooting in 2017.

Las Vegas police held a briefing regarding the shooting. Watch below.
