UPDATE NOV. 29: Police have released the arrest report for the 7-Eleven shootout and it offers new details surrounding the situation.

At 7:37 a.m.  on Nov. 10, an anonymous caller reported two people were shooting at each other in the parking lot of a 7-Eleven located at the intersection of Sunset Road and Eastern Avenue.

Police arrived at the scene and found a man by the name of James Powell lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. He was transported to Sunrise Hospital but succumbed to his injuries at 8:11 a.m.

At 7:47 officers received another call of a man shot in the parking lot of the 7-Eleven on Sunset and Pecos roads. They arrived and found Dominique Williams lying on the ground suffering from multiple shots.

Detectives investigating the scene found several handguns at the first 7-Eleven on Eastern Avenue and another on the street between the two 7-Elevens on Sunset Road and McLeod. It appears as though Williams threw that weapon from his vehicle before pulling into the second 7-Eleven.

Williams was questioned while in the hospital and he revealed that he had originally met up with Powell – a.k.a Trigger – for a drug deal. Williams climbed into Powell's car intending on buying 10 prescription pills from Powell but discovered that the pill bottle contained 40 pills. At that time Williams showed Powell a .45 caliber handgun hidden in his waistband and informed him he'd be taking the entire bottle.

Powell responded by grabbing his .380 handgun and firing at Williams. The two then began the shootout which ultimately led to the death of Powell.

Williams was charged with possession of a stolen firearm, as well as robbery with a deadly weapon and murder with a deadly weapon.

UPDATE ON NOV. 22: Police arrested Dominique Williams in connection with this incident.
