UPDATE AT 6:30 P.M. APRIL 14: Work continues to repair and access the damage on the affected building. Scaffolding has been set up outside while crews continue to clear damage.

UPDATE AT 1 P.M. APRIL 14: A spokesperson for the fire department said during a media briefing that the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. However, investigators are looking at the electrical and lighting systems.

The fire department is estimating damage between $400,000 and $500,000. A contributing factor to this estimation is the difficulty of accessing the location where the damage occurred.

UPDATE AT 10:57 A.M. APRIL 14: MGM Resorts tweeted at 10:41 a.m. Friday that the Bellagio is open today.

ORIGINAL STORY

A fire was reported at Bellagio hotel-casino Thursday night.

Clark County Fire Department first responded to the fire at 10:50 p.m. after receiving the first call at 10:46 p.m. The fire was located on the roof of a building on the north side of the lake.

Firefighters reported at 11:09 p.m. that fire was knocked down. Clark County Fire said firefighting efforts were "extremely difficult" due to the location of the fire and access to the location.

A total of 77 personnel responded to the scene. A second fire was called as a precaution.

There are no reported injuries. The cause of the fire has not yet been released.

Las Vegas Boulevard was briefly closed as a result of the fire.
