A homeowner caught two thieves stealing mail from a Southern Highlands neighborhood after their mail had gone missing for months.

People living near Jones Boulevard and Cactus Avenue said they have been missing mail since December.

"Just bills, the house, the car and the HOA," said Gabby Garcia.

One neighbor then decided to place a camera right next to the mailbox, but it didn't stop two thieves last month.

In the video, two women could be seen driving up to the mailbox early in the morning. They then open the mailbox with what neighbors believe is a key.

"They're not just breaking the box, they're not trying to push it. They have the key to open it and they get what they want," Garcia said.

Since then neighbors said more mail has gone missing.

Neighbor Cheryl Dula is missing something more important than bills -- a drawing from her son who is in prison.

"I cry even when I get his letters, so, this is very special," Dula said. "I've been checking the mail checking and checking and it's not there."

Two neighbors have already filed police reports with Las Vegas police and the U.S. Postal Service is investigating the video.

"Get these people out of the streets. They can have our name, our address, and it makes us vulnerable," Garcia said.
