A man is dead and three others are injured after a rollover crash northwest of Las Vegas early Sunday morning.

The crash occurred around 1 a.m. on Corn Creek Road, west of Landy Street. Corn Creek Road is off U.S. 95 between Lee Canyon and Kyle Canyon roads.

Police said a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck was traveling westbound on Corn Creek Road at a high rate of speed when it struck a dip in the roadway. The driver then lost control of the vehicle and ran off the undeveloped side of the roadway. The truck then rolled several times before landing in a desert area.

Emergency medical personnel determined the 28-year-old driver of Las Vegas was beyond medical assistance and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The two rear-seat passengers, 23-year-old Cecilia Black and 20-year-old Delaney Leeming, were transported by ambulance to UMC Trauma with moderate injuries, while the front passenger, 19-year-old Christopher Jones was transported by helicopter to the hospital with serious injuries.

Witnesses told police they observed the pickup truck racing with a white full-size truck when the crash occurred. The white truck and its driver left the scene of the crash.

Police believe alcohol may have been a factor in the crash.

This is the 59th traffic-related fatality in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's jurisdiction in 2016.
