A'ja Wilson's journey, career, and future with Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — Las Vegas Aces star A'ja Wilson taking some time to reflect on her journey.

Wilson says her father Roscoe Wilson inspired her to get better at the game she loved.

She eventually became one of the best players in the history of the University of South Carolina.

This past season she was voted Most Valuable Player in the WNBA.

She made the 30 Under 30 Forbes list .

Then last month, her alma mater unveiled a statue in her honor.

Wilson says she was having a hard time finding the right focal point for what she would say during her speech at the unveiling of her statue.

Then her mother told her at one point in time her grandmother wasn't allowed on the campus.

Wilson says she is looking forward to this upcoming season.

The finals left a bad taste for her and her team, and she says it is fueling them to try to win the first championship for a Vegas Pro Sports Team.
