Some students are getting a tough lesson in money management.
The nonprofit Junior Achievement of Las Vegas set up a miniature world. It's called the Finance Park and it will be open until March 23.

Thousands of students will get the chance to make a budget and see how it holds up after setting up their gas, electricity, and other expenses.
Stuff like how much the kids make and what they do for a living is randomly generated, but as they walk around through the booths they get a few unpleasant surprises, especially with some of the unplanned purchases they were forced to make.
Sometimes, they don't even realize what all their parents have to pay for. In the end, there's one big thing they'll take home to mom and dad.
"Especially when I ask her to go out and then she says 'I don't have money' and I think over here it's $20 not expensive, but then I look at the stuff she has to pay, it's hard. I see her struggle," said Bianca Castillo, an eighth-grader at J. D. Smith Middle School.
Junior Achievement is working in public and private schools throughout the Las Vegas valley.
