Five Las Vegas high school graduates, recently selected as this year’s Bank of America Student Leaders, recently returned from a week-long leadership summit in Washington DC focused on skill building and civic engagement. Olivia Leal, Syeda Jamshed, Peter Grema, Alexandra Gainey and Ally Beckwith were joined by 225 like-minded Bank of America Student Leaders from across the country. They participated in a service-learning project at the American Red Cross and met with Nevada government representatives including Congresswoman Jacky Rosen, Senator Catherine Cortez Masto, Senator Dean Heller and Congresswoman Dina Titus.

The Bank of America Student Leaders program is currently in its 14th year and consists of an eight-week paid internship at the Boys & Girls Club as well as the leadership summit in Washington DC. The highly-competitive program helps young people build workforce and leadership skills and develop better money habits to increase financial management skills.
