LAS VEGAS (KTNV) — A Las Vegas valley man says for months he's been trying to get a water leak fixed, but has gotten nowhere.

"The water pours out for 15 to 30 minutes, and it's got to be hundreds of gallons," Ted Harris said.

Harris says this leak has been happening for months, and can't get anyone to help.

"We live in the desert, and nobody should be wasting water like, The government should be holding these people accountable," Harris said.

13 Action News contacted the Las Vegas Valley Water District about the situation.

Since it's all private property, it usually is up to the property owners to deal with the issue. However, the water ended up near a public park after going through two complexes.

That means the water district can get involved, but specific details are needed for an inspector to come out in person.

"We need to know the time of day in which the water waste occurred, the location, and the day of the week in which it happened and then we'll go back out that same day next week at that same day to document the waste," Bronson Mackm with the Las Vegas Valley Water District, said.

For similar situations, information may be submitted in a form on the water district's website.
