The 17th Annual Taste And Sounds Of Soul brings big flavors and live music to Downtown Las Vegas this weekend in celebration of Black History Month.
Mario's Westside Market is one of the 40 local restaurants serving up its homestyle cooking underneath a tent on Fremont Street. But also dishing out plenty of flavor is California based All Seasons Barbecue. The twins , Marchel and Marcus Hill, who help their dad run it said their family's Arkansas roots come through in everything they prepare.
"We have tri-tip, pulled pork, baby back ribs, pork spare ribs, hot links, turkey legs, mac and cheese, collard greens!"
Tiffany Watson is visiting from the Bay Area. She said it was her third visit to the festival.
"The food," she said. " And I love the music! I love the environment."
While enjoying live music and helping yourself to all the good eats, there's some good shopping too. Vendors like Natasha Green have come from all over the U.S. to sell clothing and art.
"We've heard a lot great things about the festival," Green said. "Of course, for us to hear that all the way from from Washington D.C.; we had to check it out and see what's going on."
"It's just a good environment," said Marchel Hill. "Man, it's a great environment where else would you want to be tonight?"
Celebrate Black History Month one more day on February 24th from 11 a.m. to midnight. It's free to the public.
