The start of school is less than a month away for students in the Clark County School District and teachers are still trying to gather supplies needed for their students.

13 Action News has launched the Supplies for Success: Teacher Supply Drive in response to the need for supplies around the valley. Some of the most requested supplies include copy paper, Clorox wipes and pencils.

One of the schools that has students who need supplies is Moore Elementary on North Lamb Boulevard.

Moore Elementary has some very passionate employees.

More than 70 percent of the students at Moore are English Language Learners and all students at Moore receive a free or reduced lunch.

Reporter Parker Collins spoke with the principal who said she still needs to hire five teachers.

While she was on vacation in Hawaii, she called a local radio station and asked any locals interested in teaching in Las Vegas to contact her.

Moore Elementary says they could really use pencils, hand sanitizer and even clean clothes for its students.

You can drop off the items at Subaru of Las Vegas and several America First Credit Union locations. Donations are also being accepted at 13 Action News on Valley View Boulevard.

The supply drive runs through Aug. 3. The drive is sponsored by Subaru of Las Vegas and America First Credit Union.
