Lawyer, trial date on court agenda in Las Vegas mom slaying case
LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Naming a defense attorney and possibly moving the trial date are on the court agenda in the case of two men accused of killing a Las Vegas mother of four in a shooting in a residential cul-de-sac.
Nineteen-year-old Erich Milton Nowsch Jr. and 26-year-old Derrick Andrews are due in court Tuesday on murder, attempted murder, weapon and conspiracy charges in the Feb. 12 shooting of Tammy Meyers.
Nowsch has pleaded not guilty. Andrews hasn't entered a plea, pending the appointment of a lawyer.
Prosecutors allege that Nowsch mortally wounded Meyers on Feb. 12 in a spray of gunfire from a vehicle with Andrews at the wheel.
Polce initially called it a road rage incident.
Prosecutors are due to decide Wednesday whether to seek the death penalty against Nowsch.
