Erich Nowsch defense wants gunshot residue test on Meyers' body

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The 19-year-old man accused of shooting and killing mother of four Tammy Meyers appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom on Thursday morning.

Attorneys for Erich Nowsch are requesting the results of a gunshot residue test. They will be back in court on Friday morning to discuss that request.

In addition, they are also asking for subpoenas to be served to several governmental agencies. It is not known at this time what information they are looking for or if that would slow down District Attorney Steve Wolfson's attempt to bring the case to a grand jury.

Nowsch is accused of killing Meyers after the two of them and Meyers' son were in some sort of confrontation.

The shooting was originally thought to have been the result of road rage. Since then, it has turned into something completely different and there have been rumors of a possible drug deal gone bad.

Nowsch's attorneys also say that their client was high when he was finally arrested after a standoff and was given permission to get high by the police department before being taken into custody.
