6:53 P.M.
Las Vegas police are investigating a shooting in the 5700 block of Idle Avenue, near Alta Drive and Jones Boulevard. One person has been shot. No other information is available at this time.
5:59 P.M.
Shots were fired around 4:30 p.m. near Arville Street and San Bernardino Avenue. Police say there was an argument between a group of people. A handgun was produced and shots were fired. No one was injured. Two people were taken into custody.
4:10 P.M.
A fire caused $5,000 in damage to an apartment near Arville Street and Twain Avenue. The fire happened around 3:18 p.m. and firefighters had it out within 10 minutes. The cause is under investigation.
3:35 P.M.
Multiple horses were removed from a home near Cheyenne Avenue and Lamb Boulevard as police and Animal Control investigate a possible animal hoarding situation. READ MORE.
OVERNIGHT
Around 11:50 p.m. on Jan. 2, firefighters were called to the scene of an apartment fire near Owens Avenue and Nellis Boulevard. Crews were able to put out the flames in about 40 minutes. One firefighter was injured on scene and had to go to the hospital. Four people were displaced from two apartments. Damage has not been estimated.
OVERNIGHT
A 53-year-old pedestrian is dead after being hit by a Toyota Prius at approximately 11:30 p.m. Saturday near East Warm Springs Road and South Tamarus Street. Police say that the pedestrian was walking in the eastbound travel lane of West Warm Springs Road. The pedestrian and driver were both transported to the hospital where the pedestrian died. The driver was treated and released.
