Las Vegas welcomed 1,704,300 leisure visitors in September, up 10.9% from approximately 1.5 million visitors in August.

The increase in visitors comes as additional resort properties reopened in the destination.

September visitation numbers and hotel occupancy are based on a weighted average of roughly 133,000 guest rooms that exist at hotels open across the destination following a nearly three-month shutdown. Inventory availability and levels of operations remain at the discretion of individual resorts.

During a typical year, approximately 148,000 hotel rooms are available.

Total occupancy averaged 46.8%, with weekend occupancy at 66.1% and midweek occupancy at 38.5%. Average daily rates among open properties reached $108.13 (up 9.0% from August) while RevPAR was $50.60 (up 19.4% from August.) Average daily rates and RevPAR were down 21.1% and 58.2% respectively compared to September 2019.

No measurable convention attendance occurred during the month.
