It takes more than a little bit of holiday magic to make it snow in Summerlin, but the faux flurries set the scene for the parade along Park Centre Drive.

"I'm looking forward to seeing my sister in the parade," said Valencia Laurente. "She's dancing!”

Dancing and prancing to some festive holiday tunes, all the classics and some modern medleys for good measure as hundreds of people lined the parade route waiting for Santa's arrival.

"I'm excited to see Santa!" said Zoe Dezii.

This year's parade features six brand new floats.

13 Action News got a behind the scenes look as some last minute work was being done on floats just before the parade. Workers were attaching pieces and making sure the bikes were in good shape to pull the floats along the route. Each of the floats showcasing traditional holiday themes, but it was hard to compete with Santa on his sleigh.

"I don't really know what I'm gonna ask him for, but i'm trying to think of it.”

 And what that means.

"That he gives out presents! And we like presents. Every kid likes presents!”

The parade will run Fridays and Saturdays from Nov 16 to Dec. 22 at 6 P.M. It is free.
