UPDATE: Animal Control removed two dogs from the property early Saturday morning.
Neighbors are shocked and horrified about one of the dogs being found with duct tape wrapped around his mouth.
Jamie McQuade lives next door and knows the dog, Taz, as well as his owner.
"He's a really good dog," she said. "He doesn't bark much and when I saw his mouth taped shut, I was really confused, really sad and upset for him."
McQuade says the owner had trained Taz not to bark at her or her family.
Animal cruelty detectives are investigating Friday night after hearing reports of a dog with tape around its mouth near Alexander Road and Torrey Pines Drive.
Las Vegas police arrived at the scene after animal control officers determined that the incident could be a felony case of animal cruelty.
The animal has worked free from the tape and is currently safe.
Animal cruelty detectives will continue their investigation. Police say they have not yet heard from the dog's owner.
