The bleachers inside the gym at Chaparral High School were full of locals waiting to hear former First Lady Michelle Obama speak on the importance of voter registration in Nevada.  Michelle Obama made a stop in Las Vegas apart of the “When We All Vote” Tour.

The new non-partisan and non profit organization is on a mission to encourage voting at all ages and for all elections, not just the presidential ones.

“You might not like living with the consequences of other peoples choices, but that's what happens when you stay home. You’re putting your future in the hands of others,” says Obama.

On Nov. 6, voters in Nevada will be heading to the polls for the midterm election.

Mrs. Obama is asking for those who haven't registered to do so before the midterms.

“If we have 11 minutes to do stuff that has nothing to do for our daily lives, we have 11 minutes to vote.”

Some other notable speakers hit the stage as well, including actress Kelly McCreary and comedian Keegan-Michael Key

“You register and you vote, we don’t just talk about it we take action," says Key.

As the tour makes its way across the nation during September, the former first lady says without a doubt, Nevada is going to lead the way.

“Nevada, I love you, I know you’re gonna get this done,” says Obama.
