Four people are dead after a crash on Interstate 80 in northern Nevada.

The Nevada Highway Patrol says that the crash happened near Mile Marker 29, about 14 miles east of Sparks and three miles west of USA Parkway. NHP Northern Command posted about the collision via Twitter around 12:23 a.m. Saturday.

Troopers say a wrong-way driver collided with a westbound vehicle head-on. Eastbound traffic was shut down at USA Parkway, and westbound traffic was halted near the scene so that a medical helicopter could land.

Travel lanes were reopened around 4:30 a.m.

NHP Northern Command announced on Twitter that three people had died from the crash at 7:11 a.m. Saturday. Then around 1:30 p.m. they confirmed that a fourth person with critical injuries had died.
