Dan joined the KTNV family in June of 2016. He is no stranger of the desert southwest though as he has spent more than half his life in the desert, not the Mojave, but the Sonoran.
Dan was born in Chicago and moved to Salt Lake City for a few years before his family settled down in Phoenix, Arizona. Dan went to college at Arizona State University and graduated in 2009 with a bachelors in Geography concentration in Meteorology and Climatology.
His first job out of school was a weekend weather stunt in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. He then landed a job at Independent News Network in Davenport, Iowa. There he forecasted weather for cities all over the country with a Nevada tie as he was the meteorologist for a station in Reno.
In 2013 he found a job closer to home in Tucson, Arizona. He spent three years in the heart of the North American Monsoon. So he is no stranger to the monsoon and looks forward to dealing with the storms here in Las Vegas.
You’ll find Dan up in the mountains with his dog Kodiak on his days off or poolside on a hot sunny day. He is excited to be forecasting weather in a city so lively such as Las Vegas and looks forward to all the events and things to do in the area. His goals while here is to see the Grand Canyon, which is something he has never done and also head up to Lake Tahoe for skiing in the winter.
