Lawsuit filed against Heart Check America
There's an update for frustrated customers of Heart Check America. The Illinois Attorney General's Office filed a lawsuit Thursday against the medical imaging company and its owners. Action News first started investigating the company about four months ago. Just last month, the company suddenly closed its Las Vegas office along with locations in four other states, including Illinois.
The complaint claim that Heart Check America employees weren't medically trained to sell the scans. It also claims that in addition to false positive results, some customers got a false sense of security from false negative results.
Most customers signed multi - year contracts for thousands of dollars. Nevada's Attorney General has a list of customers who have come forward filing complaints.
