Holiday travel is like a trip to the dentist — unpleasant, but something you have to do.
And holiday AIR travel is more like a root canal — just painful.
Then, when the weather delays or cancels your flight, it makes matters worse.
For our list, we looked at flights from the Monday before Thanksgiving to New Year's Eve for the last five years.
We only included major airports with at least 10,000 flights during that time since these are the airports most of us are likely to use over the holidays.

The 25 major airports found in the video above still fared much better than the smaller ones.
The smaller airports only saw a few hundred to a few thousand flights during the same time period.
The smaller airports that were the worst at dealing with Mother Nature were places like the Friedman Memorial Airport in Idaho where you would have had a 1 in 5 chance of having your flight delayed or cancelled because of weather in the last five holiday seasons.
The airport in Kodiak, Alaska and the Dubuque Regional Airport in Iowa came in second and third with roughly 12 percent of flights getting delayed or cancelled at each airport over the past five holiday seasons.
Fortunately, even the worst large airports only delayed or cancelled between 1.8 percent and 5.7 percent of the time.
