A block party is being held Sunday for UNLV's homecoming football game against Fresno State Saturday.

Open to the public at 4:30 p.m., the Rebel Block Party is located in the northwest parking lot of Sam Boyd Stadium. The 64,000-square-foot area offers a variety of activities and food on-site leading up to the 7:30 p.m. kickoff.

The Block Party will also include a free Kids Zone featuring a face painter, football toss and inflatable.

Fans are encouraged to gather at the Block Party to help the UNLV cheer and dance teams and Star of Nevada Marching Band greet UNLV head coach Tony Sanchez and his squad as they make their Rebel Walk into the stadium. Team buses are scheduled to arrive this Saturday just before 5:30 p.m.

Before the Rebel Walk, a free concert will begin at 4:30 p.m. as appearing live on the Rebel Block Party Stage this week will be local artists Nick Mattera and Patrick Genoves.

Also, the Runnin’ Rebel basketball team will drop by to sign autographs for fans around 6:30 p.m.

Tickets for the Fresno State game start at $14 (plus fees). Visit www.unlvtickets.com or call (702) 739-FANS (3267) to buy tickets.
