The Vegas Golden Knights announced the grand prize winner and six finalists of the #PicksMaskContest.

The contest, which ran in August, asked fans in Las Vegas to help goaltender Calvin Pickard design his new goalie mask by submitting designs and written suggestions.

Grand prize winner Shawn Hickey submitted a design with a medieval knight overlooking the Las Vegas Strip and the Golden Knights primary logo on the crown of the mask. Both elements are featured on Pickard’s mask.

Finalists and their suggestions include Emily Blackwell (Bellagio Fountains); Anthony Colasuono (T-Mobile Arena); Jeannette Hall (Knight’s armor along chin, Red Rock Canyon); Matthew King (Royal Flush); AJ Presas (Secondary logo design along mask’s side); and Eric Selvig (Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign in the sunset). Pickard’s mask features an element from each of the finalists, who all reside in the Las Vegas area.

Finalists will receive an invitation to a group meet-and-greet at a Golden Knights practice at City National Arena, where the selected entrants will receive a signed puck and have the opportunity to pose for a photo with Calvin and the mask. Grand prize winner Hickey will receive a Golden Knights jersey in addition to a meet and greet/photo opportunity with Pickard and the mask.

Meanwhile, the rookie training camp began Thursday and will run through Wednesday at City National Arena. The sessions are open to the public. More information can be found here.
