Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- UNLV basketball tipped off conference play Wednesday night against New Mexico, but the Rebels' 5-point loss isn't the only thing fans are talking about today.

With about 13 and a half minutes remaining in the game and UNLV up by 2, Anthony Marshall stepped out of bounds to save a loose ball.

That's when a fan dressed in a yellow shirt shoved the UNLV guard.

Marshall was not happy with the fan interaction and game official Verne Harris quickly jumped between the two to prevent the situation from escalating.

Security promptly escorted the fan out of his seat.

UNLV went on to lose the game 65-60.

They return home on Saturday to take on Air Force at the Thomas and Mack.
