Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- The University of Nevada, Las Vegas Runnin' Rebels played their one and only exhibition game before the new season last night at the Thomas & Mack Center and it was a real nail biter.

The game went into overtime and the Rebels won against the NCAA Division II Dixie State by only one point. The final score was 81 to 80.

The win was UNLV's 16th straight exhibition victory and 29th win in its last 30 exhibition games.

Coach Dave Rice is bringing his team into the season with a Top 20 ranking on the heels of an NCAA tournament appearance last year.

They were ranked number 18 in the Associated Press' preseason poll.

The Rebels will open their regular season with a 7 p.m. game on Monday against Northern Arizona.

Six players are returning from that teams, including starters Mike Moser and Anthony Marshall.
