UNLV loses season opener to Minnesota
Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- It was an exciting opening to this year's football season for the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Last night's game ended while many people were sleeping when the game went into triple overtime.
The Rebels played the Minnesota Golden Gophers at Sam Boyd Stadium.
The Rebels scored first on a 39-yard field goal with 2:29 left in the first quarter. Minnesota answered with a 16-yard rushing touchdown in the second quarter.
The Rebels pulled ahead 10-7 in the third but Minnesota came back with two field goals.
The Rebels answered with a field goal of their own with 2:46 remaining to set up overtime.
Overtime was all back and forth between the two teams. The Gophers finally ended it with a 32-yard field goal.
The final score was 30-27.
