Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) - Senior Shaquille Powell rushed for five touchdowns and helped Bishop Gorman pull away to a 56-34 win over Liberty in a NIAA state semifinal.
The two-time defending state champions will face Reed High School on Saturday for the Nevada state title.
The Patriots held brief leads in the first half and trailed the Gaels by eight points at halftime. Liberty then pulled within 28-27 in the second half, but the Gaels proved too explosive.
Bishop Gorman has won 39 straight games over Nevada opponents.
