Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Over a hundred people showed up to a vigil Friday night for eleven-year-old Kaylee Derks.

One week ago, the Derks family got the news no parent ever wants to hear. Their daughter was dead.

She was run over by her own school bus at the entrance to a neighborhood residents say is always clogged with parents waiting to pick up their kids from school.

Buses used to pull into the neighborhood to turn around, but since the accident the Clark County School District has changed the route. Many residents have noticed a change and hope it lasts.

At the vigil, candles were lit and heads bowed to remember the adorable girl who brought smiles to the faces of everyone she met.

Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and CCSD continue to investigate this accident. A Kaylee Derks Memorial Fund has been set up to help the family at Wells Fargo Bank branches around the Valley.
