  • The sex offender registry is supposed to help keep us safer by telling us who's living in our neighborhoods. But how reliable is a system that relies on criminals to tell the truth about where they live?Contact 13 Chief Investigator Darcy Spears hit Video by ktnv.com

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Since our investigation first aired, law enforcement has tracked down one offender who was not at the address listed on Metro/NLVPD's sex offender registry.

Patrick Grossardt is a convicted child molester whose address was listed at 300 West Gowan in North Las Vegas, which is a dirt lot.

After our story aired, police found Grossardt is properly registered at a Henderson address. He has been removed from North Las Vegas' database and the registry has been updated.

We also have updated information from Metro's sex offender apprehension program. To date, for this year, they have arrested 94 offenders for failing to comply with registration requirements.
