Turkey giveaways and free meals | 2017

The following is a list of turkey giveaways or places to get a free Thanksgiving meal in Las Vegas valley:

For the 4th consecutive year, The Floyd Mayweather Jr. Foundation and Mayweather Promotions bring you a “Thanksgiving Giveaway,” an event geared toward helping families around Thanksgiving time. The giveaway is set to take place on Nov. 18 at Bill and Lillie Heinrich’s YMCA located at 4141 Meadows Lane. Mayweather Promotions’ fighters will join the Thanksgiving Giveaway and help give baskets filled with non-perishable items and turkeys from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The Champion Center, 3900 E. Bonanza Road, will be giving away turkeys, groceries and more during their Hope Las Vegas event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 18. There will also be free activities for children during the event.

Smiles Today Dental Group is giving away canned and dry goods from their generous community donors at 3 p.m. Nov. 18. They are located at 1580 E. Desert Inn Road.  

Glen Lerner Injury Attorneys will be giving 1,000 Las Vegas families a bountiful Thanksgiving meal on Nov. 19. The giveaway will happen from 1 to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of the Gilead shopping center (860 E. Twain Ave.). There will also be music and children's activities during the event. 

Las Vegas nonprofit After-School All-Stars is partnering with the Southern Nevada Toyota Dealers Association to bring Las Vegas families living in poverty a Thanksgiving meal and party. The event, which takes place Nov. 14 from 4 - 6 p.m., will provide over 120 kids and parents turkeys and non-perishable sides to take home for Thanksgiving, as well as a taco party with local business Taco Nacho and an appearance by Golden Knights mascot Chance the Gila Monster. The event will take place at Dean Petersen Elementary School, where After School All-Stars Las Vegas’ largest elementary program takes place.  

Catholic Charities will once again serve a free Thanksgiving meal to about 1,000 homeless and vulnerable men, women and children this Thanksgiving. The meal will be served beginning at 10 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. Catholic Charities is located at 1501 Las Vegas Boulevard North.
