After some major renovations, the Desert Rose Motel Sign is getting ready to be back on display at the Neon Museum.
On Tuesday morning, cranes moved the sign back into the boneyard and final assembly will take place Wednesday morning.
The Neon Museum chose to repaint the Desert Rose Motel sign because of its distinctive, hand-painted façade designed to be visually appealing both day and night, independent of neon electrification.
The total cost of the repainting project was $50,000 and the Neon Museum raised $23,000 via an Indiegogo campaign this summer toward the effort.
