Kids, parents, and teachers are working on their calm and focus at Richard C. Priest Elementary School.

Sometimes it's a sibling; sometimes it's the feeling you get; sometimes it's a deal with mom. Whatever the reason, many students are choosing to come to school before the first bell for "Mindful Mornings." It's 25 minutes of yoga and meditation taught by the school counselor.

"Teaching or school counseling can be a stressful job and a lot of us take it home, and so I started practicing myself and thought well if it helps me, why can't it help the students," said Leighanne Mainguy, the yoga instructor.

Parents and younger siblings join in, Which makes the calming benefits of yoga especially handy.

The only thing missing is mats. The school is asking for donations so every student who wants to participate can use one. The class is free of charge.
