The Henderson Police Department and the Coronado Cougars from Coronado High School will play in a charity basketball game on Saturday at the high school.

Doors open at 3:45 p.m. Attendees will have the chance to interact with police officers, SWAT and K9 officers before the game. All proceeds from the game admission will be donated to Henderson Police Department charities, including the Friends of the Henderson Police Department Foundation and the annual Shop with a Cop event for underprivileged children who are sponsored by the Henderson Police Officers Association/Henderson Police Supervisors Association.

DJ Allen, who was the co-author of the book Xs and Os of Success with former UNLV Head Coach and current Oklahoma Head Coach Lon Kruger, will coach the Henderson Police Department team while Henderson Judge Rodney Burr will referee. The game will also mark the first exhibition for the Coronado High School varsity basketball team, the reigning Sunrise Division champions and Nevada state runner-ups.
