Las Vegas firefighters (Local 1285) recently donated more than $4,000 to Susan G. Komen Nevada.

During the month of October, the firefighters sold breast cancer awareness t-shirts to raise funds for the nonprofit.

“Our members, family and friends, and our community are greatly affected by breast cancer and it’s a remarkable feeling to be a part of an organization that continually fights to find a cure for the disease,” said Todd Ingalsbee, vice president of Local 1285. “I am truly amazed at the amount of support that we received from our members and from the public, and I am proud that we were able to make a positive impact in the community.”

This is the third year that Local 1285 designed and sold t-shirts to ultimately donate to the Southern Nevada Affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
