Culinary arts students from high schools in Las Vegas showcased their cooking talents at the 4th annual "Diced!" competition at Southwest Career and Technical Academy on Thursday.
Students battled to see which team could cook up the best looking and tasting dish. Chefs from local restaurants served as judges.
Those who competed were also challenged to incorporate a mystery ingredient into their dishes.
The event was part of American Education Week, a nationally celebrated movement to honor public education and those who make a difference in the lives of young people. "Diced!" also coincided with the 25th anniversary of Magnet Schools in the Clark County School District.
